Setting your Office 365 Password

To log into the Office 365 portal navigate to https://portal.microsoftonline.com, enter your Office 365 email address and password, then click Sign In.

If you have a temporary password you will see a page like this. You can simply enter your temporary password in the Old Password field then enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields. Once you have entered the old password and the new password click Save.

Note: By default strong passwords are required in Office 365. This means that the passwords must be between 8 and 16 characters and include three of the following four options.

Uppercase Letter, Lowercase Letter, Number, Symbol

After you click Save on the password page you will be taken to Outlook Web App.

To change your Office 365 password you will need to log into the Office 365 portal by navigating to https://portal.microsoftonline.com, enter your Office 365 email address and password, then click Sign In.

Once you sign in you will be taken to Outlook Web App as shown above. To change your password you need to click on the Gear icon in the upper right-hand corner, then click Office 365 Settings.

On the Office 365 Settings page click Password to navigate to the Change Password page.

On the Change Password page you can simply enter your temporary password in the Old Password field then enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields. Once you have entered the old password and the new password click Save.

Once you click Save you should see a message that says Saved Successfully.

Congratulations!!! You have set your Office 365 password.

Note: When you change your Office 365 password you must also update Outlook or any mobile devices that are connected to your account with the new password. We recommend updating those devices immediately to avoid connection issues.
